Description of property

Situated in a famous riverside medieval village offering every amenity including numerous restaurants and cafes, 2 supermarkets, shops and a cinema. It is also the centre for canoeing and kayaking and in the summer months is a buzz of activity. Toulouse airport can be reached in just 1 hour and the A20 auto route in 15 mins.

Enter the house from the quiet village road into an entrance hallway with doors either side leading to the garages. The next door leads to an inner hall with a ‘toulousaine’ brick wall and terracotta floor tiles. A door off to the side leads into a large ground floor room (28m²) with sliding glass doors out to the lower garden and at one end a fully equipped utility room. This room is currently being used partly as an office but would make the perfect guest room with en suite.

Back to the inner hall and the original curved oak staircase leads up to the main living area. An imposing and light sitting room of 50m² with a high beamed ceiling, beautiful stone fireplace and exposed stone walls. A wall of sliding glass doors leads out onto a  private veranda (50m²) with steps leading down to the lower garden. The dining end is situated in the ‘L’ of the sitting room and there is also a cloakroom with wc and basin. Double doors lead into the well equipped fitted kitchen (14m²) with white ‘shaker’ units and door out to the veranda.

Curved staircase continues to 2nd floor. 3 double bedrooms of 12 m², 14 m² & 17 m² all beautifully presented and light. One superb bathroom with separate shower and mirrored wall, wc next door and large shower room with basin and wc.

Our opinion

Our view: To find a totally renovated stone village house with a private garden is rare indeed. This one is situated in a famous village with every amenity and it is just 1 hour from Toulouse. There are large light rooms full of sunshine and oozing character and a huge private terrace just perfect for al fresco dining under the stars.
